1.8.2027 Competitors have the opportunity to join an excursion to the Lampivaara Amethyst Mine in Luosto.
Join us for a visit to Luosto’s famous amethyst mine and experience the stunning fell landscapes of Lapland. The excursion begins in Tankavaara, from where we travel by bus to the Lampivaara Amethyst Mine.
The amethyst mine is located on top of Lampivaara Fell, approximately 400 metres above sea level. From the summit, visitors can enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding wilderness in every season. The mine is reached by climbing approximately 150 steps from the café area to the top of the fell.
During the guided tour, participants will hear the fascinating story of amethysts and learn about the history of the mine. As a highlight of the visit, everyone will have the opportunity to dig for their own lucky amethyst and take it home as a souvenir.
Following the mine visit, participants will have some free time in the Luosto area. You can explore the village, enjoy refreshments or purchase a snack.
After the free time, we will return to Tankavaara.
